My body of work is diverse in intention and themes, but unified by the use of symbolic and narrative surface decoration as a means of communication. Continued investigation in slip application has led to my precise vocabulary of lines, layers, patterns, colors and textures.
The pieces I produce cannot always be neatly classified as art, design or craft. Instead of pigeonholing work in one distinct area, I see these concepts as three points on a graph- some of my work is more towards one point, some is closer to another. The versatility of ceramics invites me to explore across genres.
